Umut Doğu Aktürk, M.D. is a specialist in Neurosurgery with a strong focus on advanced spinal disorders and minimally invasive spinal interventions. He completed his medical education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in Ankara, graduating in 2007. In 2009, he pursued further studies in Neurosurgery at Ankara University, and subsequently completed his residency training at Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt Training and Research Hospital between 2011 and 2016, earning his specialist qualification in Neurosurgery.
Dr. Aktürk began his professional career as a Neurosurgery Specialist at Yozgat City Hospital, where he worked from 2016 to 2019. He then continued his practice at Emsey Hospital between 2020 and 2024. From 2024 to 2025, he was part of the Advanced Spine Center at Memorial Şişli Hospital. Since 2025, he has been serving at Lokman Hekim Istanbul Hospital, where he continues to manage complex cases in brain and spine surgery.
His clinical expertise includes the treatment of degenerative spinal disorders, lumbar and cervical disc herniations, spinal stenosis, facet joint arthropathy, and spondylolisthesis. He has substantial experience in managing traumatic spine injuries, vertebral fractures in the thoracolumbar, cervical, and sacral regions, spinal instability, ligament injuries, and spinal cord trauma. He also treats a wide range of spinal tumors, including both primary and metastatic lesions, as well as intradural and intramedullary tumors.
Dr. Aktürk is also experienced in functional and interventional pain management procedures, including image-guided spinal injections, neuromodulation (spinal cord stimulation), vertebroplasty, and kyphoplasty.
